CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A Clinton Township man is accused of killing his live-in girlfriend and living with her mutilated remains in his basement for months.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Matthew Lewinski, 37, has been charged with three felonies: first-degree premeditated murder, disinterment/mutilation of a dead body and concealing the death of an individual.

According to prosecutors, one of Lewinski's family members discovered his girlfriend's remains last week; however, they said her killing actually took place in Dec. 2020 — seven months ago.
