Crash Collapses Lung, Breaks Leg Of Sterling Heights Man

A three-car Friday morning crash in Clinton Township injured three people.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A 46-year-old Sterling Heights man suffered a broken arm, shattered leg and a collapsed lung as the result of a three-car crash on Clinton River Road Friday morning. A teenage driver veered across the centerline of the road and struck a minivan driven by the Sterling Heights man, according to a Macomb Daily report.

“According to Clinton Township police, a Dodge Durango and a maroon 2004 Dodge Caravan were travelling westbound on Clinton River Road near 17 Mile Road, while a silver 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by a 18-year-old male from Sterling Heights, was headed eastbound.”
“The driver of the Durango observed the Trailblazer was drifting and was able to drive off the roadway to avoid a head-on collision but stuck a fire hydrant. But the driver of the Caravan, which was behind the Durango, was unable to avoid the collision, and the vehicles hit head on.”
