Henry Ford Macomb to Prepare 450 Thanksgiving Meals for Home-Bound Seniors

Want to help fight hunger in Clinton Township? Join Patch and help raise $10,000 for Gleaners Community Food Bank.

Continuing a 16-year tradition, staff and volunteers at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township will prepare 450 Thanksgiving meals Thursday for distribution to home home-bound seniors in Macomb County’s Meals on Wheels program.

The hospital typically prepares more than 200 meals a day for Meals on Wheels, but doubles its production for holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.

Henry Ford Macomb’s Culinary Wellness staff will prepare two meals Thursday, one featuring traditional Thanksgiving fare and a second box lunch seniors can save for the next day.

The Meals on Wheels program assists seniors who are unable to prepare meals on their own due to physical or mental impairments related to age or a medical condition.
