How Many Votes Did Clinton Township Lawmakers Miss in 2012?

The township's representatives in the Michigan House and Senate had nearly perfect voting records.

It was a busy year in Lansing and we've got the scoop on how legislators representing Clinton Township performed.

Overall in Michigan, 13 of 38 senators had perfect voting records, while 62 out of 110 representatives did the same on roll call votes taken from Jan. 1, 2012, through Dec. 31, 2012, according to michiganvotes.org.

  • Sen. Tory Rocca, R-Sterling Heights, representing the 10th District including Clinton Township, had a perfect voting record, missing zero votes out ofΒ 1,082 taken.
  • Rep. Anthony Forlini, R-Harrison Township, representing the 24th District including Clinton Township, had a perfect voting record, missing zero votes out of 904 taken.
  • Rep. Marilyn Lane, D-Fraser, representing the 31st District including Clinton Township, missed 3 roll call votes out of 904Β  taken. That is less than 1 percent of votes in 2012.

Sen. Bert Johnson, D-Detroit, representing the 2nd District, missed the most votes in the Senate with 111; Rep. Rep. Jimmy Womack, D-Detroit, representing the 7th District, missed the most votes in the House with 409.

Rocca, Forlini and Lane will return to Lansing on Jan. 9 for the start of the Michigan House and Senate's 2013 session.
