Husband, Wife Found Shot In Head; 1 Survives

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI — Police are investigating an incident where a husband and wife were both found shot inside their home. A handgun was also recovered, but there were no signs of foul play, according to police.

Authorities said they received a call from the couple’s son in Florida Tuesday evening, concerned about his father’s slurred speech. Authorities then received a call from a man at the Macomb Township residence, noting that his speech was impaired.

When officers arrived at the home, no one answered and they forced their way in, according to a press release. Once inside, they found an elderly woman, the man’s wife, dead with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, leg and hand, inside the master bedroom. Inside the master bathroom was the man, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The handgun was retrieved from the bedroom.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment and police are investigating to determined what happened.
