L'Anse Creuse's Erik Edoff Relishes New Role
L'Anse Creuse Public Schools Superintendent Erik Edoff is still getting his feet wet having been on the job for only a few weeks.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP β With a little more than a week under his belt, new LβAnse Creuse Public Schools Superintendent Erik Edoff is still getting his feet wet. Not that he is new to the district β Edoff has been with LβAnse Creuse for nearly two decades in various roles. But itβs his first time leading the ship, a task he seems to be thoroughly enjoying thus far.
βI am overwhelmed with the support I have already received from so many different people,β he wrote in the districtβs newsletter. βI have spent a significant amount of time getting up to speed on several initiatives and projects, while getting acquainted with my new position. I am hoping to get out into the buildings soon to see all of the wonderful things taking place throughout the district.β
Edoff had been assistant superintendent for secondary education at LβAnse Creuse Public Schools for the past two years, according to a Macomb Daily report. He was selected to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of former Superintendent Jacqueline Johnston.

βThe job of a superintendent is to listen to a variety of viewpoints,β he told the newspaper. βMy focus will be on getting people on board to work together to solve whatever problems we may face going forward. If you have a healthy climate and culture in the schools, everyone will be prepared to move forward.β
Edoff started in the district as a teacher. He has also worked as a senior director of the Pankow instructional programs and associate principal. Edoff earned an educational specialist degree in educational leadership from Oakland University, a Master of Science in K-12 administration from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Kalamazoo College, the Macomb Daily reported.

Edoff plans to spend time listening to district stakeholders and getting their input. βI will be holding several βListen and Learnβ meetings over the next few months,β he wrote in the district newsletter. βThese meetings will be an opportunity for staff members, students, parents and community members to share their thoughts on the districtβs strengths and challenges. It will be my chance to listen and learn from those invested and impacted by what we do in LβAnse Creuse. Dates and times will be posted on our website. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to me personally at any time.β
