Larceny Suspect Caught Mid-Theft in Clinton Township

A 20-year-old Clinton Township resident suspected of stealing from vehicles in the area of 16 Mile and Gratiot was arrested Dec. 18 after attempting to flee police.

Clinton Township officers first spotted the suspect around 3 a.m. leaving the driveway of a home on Price Drive. Losing sight of the suspect, officers began to check the area on foot, according to the police report.

While in the area of Price and King Drive, officers heard the sound of someone jumping fences. The suspect finally emerged on the west side of North Price Drive, where officers ordered him to the ground, according to the report.

Officers uncovered GPS units, cell phone charges, an iPod car dock, cassette adaptor, cash and other miscellaneous items in the suspect’s backpack, which he admitted to stealing from vehicles on Dale Allen Street.

The suspect was arrested for larceny from a vehicle.
