Century Plastics, Inc. in Shelby Township is currently hiring for more than 100 positions. Michigan Works! of Macomb County will help recruit those positions at a special event Dec. 18 and 19 in Clinton Township.

The recruiting event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days at the  VerKuilen Building, 21885 Dunham Rd. Job hunters should enter through door C to the senior auditorium.

CPI is hiring for machine and compression operators for eight-hour day, afternoon and night shifts.

• Machine Operator, $8.25 per hour plus shift premium
• Compression Operator, $10.25 per hour plus shift premium

Potential employees should be able to work in fast-paced environment, stand for long periods of time, use their hands and arms repeatedly, lift up to 10 pounds, maintain good attendance and pass a drug test.

The event will include direct placement and on-the-job training for the compression operator position.

To be considered for an on-the-job training grant, attendees should bring copies of their identification, social security card, birth certificate and proof of household income for the last six months (including unemployment benefits or food stamp award letter).

Job hunters must be prepared to complete an employment application and be interviewed on the spot.
