Macomb County Announces New Drive-Thru Coronavirus Testing Site

The Macomb County Health Department on Friday announced that it will be providing drive-thru testing for the coronavirus.

MACOMB COUNTY, MI β€”The Macomb County Health Department announced on Friday that it will be providing drive-thru testing for the coronavirus for all Macomb County residents.

Testing will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays beginning on Monday. The presence of symptoms related to the coronavirus are not required for a person to be tested.

β€œTesting remains critical to our efforts to continue to slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Macomb County Health Department director/health officer William Ridella. β€œWe encourage everyone to get tested.”

Testing is by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling the Health Department’s COVID-19 Helpline at (586) 463-3750, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. There is no cost for testing, and a prescription is not required, officials said in a news release. As part of the testing process, people must remain in their vehicles from the time they arrive until they depart.

The drive-through test site is located in the parking lot of the former Macomb County Juvenile Court Building, located at 380 Rose St. in Mount Clemons.
