Macomb County Sheriff Holding Law Enforcement Academy

This special academy is for senior citizens in the community.

MACOMB COUNTY -- The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is again hosting a yearly program that engages some of the community's veteran citizens.

The Law Enforcement Academy for Senior Citizens is a four-week series of classes to educate seniors about the operations of the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office and its different divisions.

Classes will be held at the Macomb Intermediate School District, 44001 Garfield (north entrance) in Clinton Township. Four comprehensive workshops will be held Monday’s on April 1, April 8, April 15, and April 22. All workshops run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Topics will include: Detective Bureau, Evidence Technician, Youth Bureau, Firearms, Corrections, Special Enforcement Team (S.E.T), Macomb Area Computer Enforcement Unit (M.A.C.E.), Macomb Auto Theft Squad (M.A.T.S.), K-9 Unit, Traffic, and the Marine Division. The series ends with a graduation ceremony.

"I am pleased to support this program. We are always looking for ways to keep our seniors safe," says Sheriff Anthony M. Wickersham.

Registrations by phone will be accepted starting March 1, 2019.

The course is presented by Sheriff Anthony Wickersham and will conclude with a graduation ceremony and certificate.
