Man Ran Illegal Dental Office From Clinton Township House: Cops

Police also say the 55-year-old was in the country illegally after a work visa expired.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A 55-year-old man is behind bars for running an illegal dental practice out of his house, according to authorities.

Leka Gjokaj was arraigned Friday morning at the 41B District Court in Clinton Township after police obtained a felony warrant for unauthorized health profession practice, a felony that could get him a four-year prison sentence if convicted.

Clinton Township Police said they first received a complaint about someone running an illegal practice from his home on Shulock Street in Clinton Township.

According to Clinton Township Police, Gjokaj was in the country illegally after his work visa expired in 2015 and federal immigration officials have placed a detainer hold if he posts bond on the Clinton Township charge.
