Name Change Underway for Parisian Store at Partridge Creek
Parisian and Younkers department stores in Metro Detroit will be renamed Carson's by Jan. 31, 2013.

Adieu, Parisian. Bonjour, Carsonβs.
By this time next month, Parisian stores in Southeast Michigan, including the anchor store in The Mall at Partridge Creek, will have a new name.
Bon-Ton Stores, Inc., the corporate owner of Parisian and Younkers, announced Wednesday that it plans to rename its four Metro Detroit stores Carsonβs, officially Carson Pirie Scott, by Jan. 31, 2013.

βWe believe the conversion will be seamless for our customers, as we are merely changing the store nameplate to Carsonβs,β wrote Brendan Hoffman, president and chief executive officer, in a letter to store associates. βOur Parisian customers in the Detroit area will find our outstanding merchandise offerings and our commitment to providing excellent service remain unchanged.β
The timing of the name change was dictated by an expiring license. As Bon-Tonβs license to use the Parisian name βΒ which it purchased along with the stores from Belk, Inc. in 2006 βΒ is due to expire Jan. 31, customers can expect to see the Carsonβs name on their stores by the end of the month.

The name change will include everything from the sign on the building to shopping bags, credit applications, forms and nametags for sales associates.
It will also mean new store credit cards for customers currently carrying Parisian or Younkers Your Rewards cards. While these cards will be accepted during the transition, customers will be issued new Carsonβs cards within the next few weeks.Β
Your Rewards cards can be used at all Bon-Ton stores, including Bergnerβs, Boston Store, Carson's, Elder-Beerman and Herbergerβs.
