Science Olympiad: L’Anse Creuse's Tenniswood Elementary School Celebrates A Win

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — Tenniswood Elementary School celebrated a first-place win in the Elementary Science Olympiad District Tournament held at L’Anse Creuse High School – North on March 4. Francis A. Higgins Elementary School earned second place and Green Elementary School achieved third place. The top three schools will now prepare for the Macomb County meet on May 20 at Macomb Community College South Campus in Warren.

Frederick V. Pankow Performing Arts students will present Almost, Maine on March
10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the John R. Armstrong Performing Arts Center (JAPAC). Almost, Maine is a critically acclaimed romantic comedy that takes place on a winter evening in a very smal town. Rather than following a traditional narrative, the play is a series of loosely connected vignettes about love and romance. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the JAPAC box office or by calling (586) 783-6520.

A ceramic work created by L’Anse Creuse High School student Breanna Droska has been selected for inclusion in the 20th Annual National Ceramic K-12 Exhibition in Portland, Oregon from March 22 through March 24.

Over 1,400 ceramic pieces were submitted by students around the country, but only 150 were selected for display. The exhibition takes place in conjunction with the annual conference of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, one of the largest gatherings for ceramics professionals. Therefore, Breanna’s work will be viewed by some of the preeminent ceramic experts in the country.
