Third Mistrial Declared for Clinton Twp. Grandmother Accused of Drowning Grandson
Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Peter J. Maceroni declared a mistrial Wednesday in the case against Terry Rita Borgia, 63, after a jury could not reach a unanimous verdict.

The case against a Clinton Township woman accused of drowning her grandson in a bathtub in 2010 has ended in a mistrial for the third time.Â
Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Peter J. Maceroni declared a mistrial Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the case against Terry Rita Borgia, 63, after a jury could not reach a unanimous verdict, according to court records.
Mistrials were previously declared in June and August.

Prosecutors and attorneys are scheduled to meet Dec. 20 to confer over the possibility of a third trial.
Borgia faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of DeAngelo Tobia, her 4-year-old grandson, at her apartment Jan. 11, 2010.
