Wyandot Middle School Volunteens Organize 'Sock it to Sandy' Relief Drive
Students are collecting new socks for adults and children of any type or size until Nov. 19 to send to Superstorm Sandy victims in Rockaway Beach, one of the hardest hit areas of New York.

With a wicked nor’easter now bearing down on areas that have yet to recover from Superstorm Sandy's first punch, students at Wyandot Middle School are doubling their efforts to send some relief to the East Coast.
Since Nov. 5, the Wyandot "Volunteens" have been collecting socks of all types and sizes for their "Sock it to Sandy–Send a Smile to New York" sock drive.
Through Nov. 19, students will collect new socks for adults and children. These donations will be sent to Rockaway Beach, one of New York's hardest hit areas.

Members of the community can send their donations to the school in care of staff member Cheryle Kahl. Although it is not required, donors also have the option of including a small cash donation inside their gift of socks.
Donors will be recognized in a school display connecting the maps of Michigan and New York. Students who participate will receive a smiley face pin.
