Area Athletes Score High Marks at Dearborn City Swim Meet
Dozens of youths and teens from Dearborn competed in the city's swim meet on July 23.

DEARBORN — Swimmers from throughout the city competed July 23 in the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department's annual city swim meet at Dunworth Pool.
Dual male winners included Eddie Gutowski, 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard IM, ages 10 and under; Alex Hassan, 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, ages 11-12; Nolan Colter, 50-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle, ages 13-14; Michael Rogula, 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard IM, ages 13-14; and Noah Kubitz, 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard IM, ages 15-17.
Twin female winners were: Elliana Hassan, 25-yard freestyle and 25-yard breaststroke, ages six and under; Delaney Rowe, 25-yard freestyle and 25-yard breaststroke, ages eight and under; Emma Engquist, 100-yard IM and 50-yard breaststroke, ages 10 and under; Isabel Dziadzio, 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard backstroke, ages 11-12; Olivia Murray, 100-yard IM and 50-yard breaststroke, ages 11-12; Abby Stewart, 100-yard IM and 50-yard butterfly, ages 13-14; Hanna Paoletti, 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, ages 13-14; and Tess Robar, 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard breaststroke, ages 15-17.

Champions in the 8 and under division included Natalie Jakubowicz, girls 25-yard backstroke; Salvatore Thomson, boys 25-yard freestyle; and Mohamed Fakih, boys 25-yard breaststroke.
Swimmers taking top honors in the 10 and under division included Emily Robinson, girls 50-yard freestyle; Grace Roberts, girls 100-yard freestyle; Samuel Roberts, boys 50-yard backstroke; Luke Gilleran, boys 25-yard butterfly; and Daniel Misovich, boys 50-yard breaststroke.

Blue ribbon winners in the ages 11-12 division included Zoe Rogula, girls 25-yard butterfly; Marie Eden, girls 100-yard freestyle; Keegan Rowe, boys 100-yard IM; Angel Goethals, boys 50-yard backstroke; Hadi Hage, boys 25-yard butterfly; and Evan Belaire, boys 50-yard breaststroke.
First place finishers in the 13-14 division included Madelynne Rowe, girls 50-yard backstroke; Holly Gutkowski, girls 50-yard breaststroke; Ali Khalil, boys 50-yard butterfly; and Michael Lozoya, boys 50-yard breaststroke.
Titlests in the 15-17 division included Megan Coleman, girls 100-yard IM and David Prygoski, boys 50-yard breaststroke.
In relay events, Luke Hetricj, Nicole McClain, Luke Gilleran and Ava Evenhouse took top honors in the 100-yard freestyle relay for ages 10 and under. Zoe Rogula, Kate Stewart, Abigail Neill and Keegan Rowe finished first in the 100-yard freestyle relay for ages 11-12. Madelynne Rowe, Hanna Paoletti, Benjamin Misovich and Tess Robar picked up a blue ribbon in the 200-yard freestyle relay for ages 13-17.
