Dearborn Fire Department Hosts Open Houses

Kids will love what local firefighters have planned for this community event.

DEARBORN, MI — Local families are invited to the Dearborn Fire Department during its Open Houses on Saturday, Oct. 12 to get an inside look at Dearborn's fire operations and have some fun in the community.

The events will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Fire Station 2, 19800 Outer Drive, north of Michigan Avenue and from 2–4 p.m. at Fire Station 5, 3160 Oakwood Boulevard in Melvindale

There will be plenty of all-ages, family-friendly activities at both events, including:

  • Enjoy a visit with Sparky the Dog
  • Watch a car extraction demonstration
  • Watch demonstrations by the Dearborn Police bomb squad
