DEARBORN, MI — A Dearborn man is facing charges after a domestic violence incident and fleeing officers, according to police.
The incident started last Sunday at 6 a.m. when officers were called to the 5000 block of Argyle St. in Dearborn on reports of a domestic violence incident, according to police.
When officers arrived at the home, the suspect, 55-year-old Ali Ahmed Zbib, fled to a nearby parking lot where he entered a 2016 Freightline semi truck, according to police.

As officers approached Zbib, police said he drove the semi truck into an occupied police vehicle before leaving the parking lot as officers followed. The chase came to an end at Telegraph and Champaign Street in Taylor due to Zbib's dangerous and erratic driving, according to police.
Zbib continued eluding officers over the next two days by fleeing from several neighboring communities, according to police.

On June 9, police said Dearborn Police Special Operations officers located Zbib driving the semi truck in Detroit. After a lengthy surveillance operation, officers arrested him without further incident, according to police.
Zbib was charged with assault-domestic violence, malicious destruction of police property and fleeing and eluding. He was placed in jail and given a $100,000 bond with a GPS tether. His next court date is scheduled for June 18.
"This individual led officers from multiple area agencies on a dangerous pursuit while driving erratically, putting others in danger. I commend our Special Operations and patrol officers and thank our partner agencies for their cooperation in bringing this suspect to justice," Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin said.
