Dearborn Man Arrested After Kidnapping 7-Year-Old Daughter: Police

DEARBORN, MI — Pennsylvania Police on Wednesday arrested a Dearborn man who was wanted after kidnapping his 7-year-old daughter, according to police.

Millcreek Township Police said the girl is safe and will be reunited with her mother very soon.

Police said 39-year-old Jafar Almaarej took his 7-year-old daughter from her mother's home in Pennsylvania last Sunday, despite a no-contact order from a judge.

He also threatened the mother, police said.

Officers arrested Almaarej in Pennsylvania on Wednesday in connection with the kidnapping. It was unclear exactly where police found him in Pennsylvania, but police had reason to believe he was in the Dearborn area.

Pennsylvania Police worked with law enforcement in Michigan as well as the U.S. Marshals.
