Dearborn Police: Avoid Edsel Ford During Terry Jones Protest

Dearborn police issued a Nixle alert asking residents to stay away from Edsel Ford High School on Thursday between 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Dearborn police are asking residents to avoid Edsel Ford High School on Thursday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. because of a planned protest by Terry Jones, according to a Nixle alert.

Jones, a Florida pastor, is well known in Dearborn, having visited the city three times since April 2011 to protest what he said is the spread of Islamic law in the city.

Jones is returning Thursday “to protest the bullying of non-Muslim students,” according to a press release from Stand Up America Now on behalf of Jones.
