Dearborn Road Construction: $17.9M Michigan Avenue Project Starts

DEARBORN, MI — A two-year, $17.9 million Michigan Avenue project in Dearborn is set to start Wednesday morning, state officials announced.

Construction crews will start by reducing traffic along Michigan Avenue between Oakwood Boulevard and Greenfield Road to two lanes in each direction Wednesday morning, state officials said.

During nights, weekends and off-peak times, traffic may be reduced to one lane.

Officials said crews will focus this year's work on Michigan Avenue between Oakwood Boulevard and the Southfield Freeway. Officials expect the work to be completed by November.

Next year, crews will focus on the area between the Southfield Freeway and Greenfield Road, officials said.

In addition to resurfacing Michigan Avenue, road crews will also work on curb/gutter, guardrail, and drainage improvements, along with traffic signal modernization, sidewalk upgrades, and sign upgrades.
