Displaced Syrians Face Snow and Bitter Cold

Help Send Winter Essentials to Families in Syria

Heavy snowfall on January 18th - 19th has caused suffering in communities across northwest Syria, especially for those living in internal displacement sites. A powerful winter storm brought heavy snow, hail and high winds to IDP camps, collapsing tents and causing unimaginable hardship to residents. So far, thousands of displaced Syrians have been impacted by the heavy snowfall which has destroyed or damaged their homes and personal belongings. So far, 545 tents have been reported destroyed and 9,125 tents damaged by snowfall, floods and winds.

To address this urgent need, the Syrian American Medical Society Foundation is partnering with Mercy Without Limits to distribute warm blankets, heaters and fuel to approximately 750 families in northwest Syria, benefitting more than individuals. With your support, each family will receive (3) warm blankets, a heater and enough fuel to last for approximately 75 - 90 days.
