'Dream Come True': Metro Detroit Man Hits $1.3M Lotto 47 Jackpot

TAYLOR, MI — A Wayne County man said hitting the $1.3 million Lotto 47 jackpot was a "dream come true," according to Michigan Lottery officials.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the winning Lotto 47 numbers drawn Jan. 8 (04-08-17-28-36-43) to win the game’s $1.3 million jackpot, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

The man bought the winning ticket at Mac’s II Inc., located at 22399 Northline Road in Taylor, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

"I have played this set of numbers for four years," said the 54-year-old winner. "I scanned my ticket on the Lottery app and saw the confetti fly and thought: ‘This is a dream come true!’ Winning is a great feeling and gives me and my family financial freedom."

He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $901,000, rather than annuity payments for the full amount, according to Michigan Lottery officials.
