Fake $20 Bill Used to Pay for Food at Burger King

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

DEARBORN — An unknown customer paid for their food at a Burger King restaurant on Michigan Avenue using counterfeit $20 and $10 bills sometime between July 31 and Aug. 1, police said.

According to the Dearborn Police Department, the store's night manager noticed the bills after cashing out an employee's register drawer around 9:34 a.m. on Aug. 1.

The manager told police that the store would surrender all surveillance footage for an investigation. Officers confiscated the counterfeit bills and mailed them to the U.S. Secret Service Office in Detroit for analysis.

Agents confirmed that the $20 bill had a previous record of activity in an ongoing investigation.
