Hammoud Declares Victory In Dearborn's Mayoral Race
"This victory belongs to every resident who believes in our city and its future," Hammoud said.

DEARBORN, MI — Dearborn voters have spoken and appear to have re-elected Mayor Abdullah Hammoud in Tuesday's elections.
Hammoud had a sizable lead over IT manager Nagi Almudhegi, according to unofficial vote totals.
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Hammoud gathered 18,531 votes to Almudhegi's 7,294, securing roughly 71 percent of the vote, according to unofficial vote totals from Wayne County.

"We won! Thank you, Dearborn," Hammoud said in a Facebook post. "This victory belongs to every resident who believes in our city and its future. Dearborn is strong because we stand together. A city that welcomes all, supports all, and lifts all. The promise of progress continues. Let’s keep building."
Hammoud, a former Democratic state representative, was first elected mayor in 2021. He became the city's first ever Arab-American elected mayor.

His campaign has largely focused on public safety, flood prevention and fiscal stability. He recently detailed multiple projects to help tackle flooding in the city during heavy rainstorms.
