It's Turbo Turtle Derby Time at Dearborn Homecoming!

The Kiwanis Club of Dearborn Foundation (KCD), a 501c3 non-profit charity, is
happy to again offer a fun raffle and the opportunity for you to help
us support local youth programs.

The Turbo Turtle Derby is a raffle that includes over 50 locally donated
prizes, the first prize being $1,000. Turtle Derby raffle
tickets are available from KCD members now and at our Homecoming
Booth. Tickets are available at the booth (cash or credit) until are all sold out (last year that was early Sunday morning) or until the hundreds of rubber turtles marked with numbers that match the raffle tickets are tossed over the bridge @4:40 pm. Check out the ticket price deals on the ticket photo.

This is a really fun family activity. People come out and cheer for their
turtles as they float down the Rouge and go through
our pre-set trap. They float down and are trapped in the order of the
prize winners as the raffle ticket number, on the bottom of every
turtle, is shouted out to the officials on shore. Prizes are
available about an hour after the race ends at the booth or winners
will be notified by phone and prizes delivered.

Please note that no live turtles are involved in any way in this event.

Kiwanis is an international organization whose primary mission is to help the
Children of the World. Our Dearborn Club, whose service and members
also includes surrounding cities, sponsors seven local area high
school youth groups called KEY Clubs. Each Key Club has a school
Faculty Advisor and a Kiwanis Advisor who help develop leadership
skills and facilitate hundreds of annual student led community
service projects. Several of our clubs have earned many State of
Michigan Key Club awards for their project contributions.
Their motto is “Caring...Our Way of Life.”

In addition, KCD does dozens of other service projects with hospitals, seniors, needy families, our military, homeless, etc. Check us out on FB for more details.
