Man Killed By Amtrak Train In Dearborn
A 52-year-old Dearborn resident has died after being hit by a train Thursday afternoon.

DEARBORN, MI — A 52-year-old man is dead after being struck by an Amtrak train in Dearborn Thursday afternoon.
Police said the man was a pedestrian and not a passenger on the train when he was struck by the eastbound locomotive around 2 p.m. First responders were unable to save the man from his injuries and he died at the scene, officials said.
The man’s identity has not been released, pending notification of the family, police said.

Police are continuing to investigate and say they believe his death was an accident.
“Any loss of life such as this is a tragedy,” Chief Ronald Haddad said. “The City of Dearborn extends sincere condolences to the family.”
