Missing Dearborn Man's Body Pulled From Lake Erie: Sheriff
Officials said the man went missing after jumping from a boat into the water.
MONROE COUNTY, MI — Dive crews found the body of a Dearborn man who jumped from a boat into Lake Erie on Sunday afternoon, according to the sheriff's office.
A boater notified officials that they saw a body in the water near Sterling State Park in Monroe County at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, officials said.
Dive crews responded to the area and found the body of 23-year-old Hussein Afi Hassoun, officials said.

Hassoun was on a 34-foot white Baja boat with four other adults at 6 p.m. Sunday in Lake Erie near Sterling State Park, officials said.
Officials said Hassoun went for a swim and soon began to struggle and went underwater.

The other boaters lost sight of him when he went underwater and was never seen again, officials said.
Officials said he was not wearing a life jacket at the time.
A rescue boat found the other boaters and took them to safety while they began searching for Hassoun, officials said.
