Traffic Headaches Ahead on Southfield Freeway
Construction on Interstate 94 and the Southfield Freeway will affect Dearborn-area drivers this weekend.

Motorists will find several lane closures and road construction projects in the Dearborn area this weekend.
Northbound and southbound M-39 (Southfield Freeway) will be reduced to one lane under Interstate 94 from 5 a.m. Saturday until Sunday at 9 p.m. for ongoing work at the I-94/M-39 interchange, according to MDOT.

- The right two lanes of westbound I-94 will be closed from Oakwood Boulevard to Pelham Road from 10 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday. From 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday, the right lane will be closed. From 3 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday, the two right lanes will be closed. Â
- In Wayne County, the eastbound I-94 ramp to northbound M-39 will be closed from 5 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday for bridge work. A detour will be posted.
- In Detroit, there will be intermittent single and double lane closures on eastbound I-94 from Michigan Ave to M-10, and on westbound I-94 from M-10 to I-96 from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday for pavement and bridge work.
