Wayne County to Host Electronic Waste, Scrap Tire Drop-Off Event Saturday

Computers, video game consoles, and other electronics will be collected in Redford Township on Saturday.

The Wayne County Land Resource Management Division (LRMD) will hold its popular electronic waste and scrap tire collection from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Redford Township DPS.

The Redford Township Department of Public Works is located at 12200 Beech Daily Road.

The following items will be accepted from Wayne County residents and small businesses:

• Up to seven passenger (scrap) tires

• Computers, laptops, keyboards, mice, CRT and LCD monitors

• TVs, VCRs, CD players, DVD players

• Printers, fax machines, stereos, speakers

• Cell phones, telephones, microwave ovens, Christmas lights

• Game consoles, hand-held electronic devices, computer parts and miscellaneous cables

“Our e-collection and scrap tire event is an opportunity to help the environment as a whole,” said Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano. “I encourage Wayne County residents and small businesses to take advantage of this opportunity to dispose of waste in a proper way."
