MCC will take over Brush Park in downtown Flint for the WELCOME BACK event of the year in collaboration with Beats X Beers Sept. 18, from 6 p.m. to midnight, for a Fall Fest designed with Flint-area college and high school students in mind.

The College has partnered with Beats X Beers to host this first-ever festival filled with live music featuring MCC’s Jazz band, DJs, FREE food vouchers, food trucks, a vendor area featuring local artists and entrepreneurs, and larger-than-life games to challenge friends and classmates.

“We want to celebrate with students who made it through a tough 2020-21 academic year by kicking off this school year with some great music, good food and a lot of fun,” said MCC President, Dr. Beverly Walker-Griffea. “Brush Park offers a great location for us all to gather safely.”

The Consumers Energy Foundation is sponsoring free food vouchers for the first 500 people to visit the Consumers Energy vendor’s table. Other event sponsors include Health Alliance Plus, GST Michigan Works!, the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, and the Protect Michigan Commission, who will be on hand to provide free COVID vaccines from 6 to 10 p.m.

MCC is partnering with the 2021 Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball tournament happening in downtown Flint Sept. 18 and 19. The College will host the KidZone from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. prior to the Welcome Back Fall Fest.
