The Nealssohn family received word that their dog, Teddy, was struck by a vehicle on I-96 and died instantly.
"We appreciate your help in trying to get the word out, even though the outcome was not what we'd have hoped for," Thomas Nealssohn wrote in an email to Hartland Patch.

The Nealssohn family lost their dog in Howell on Saturday. Â
He was riding with a realtive who was going to Grand Rapids and when she stopped at the McDonalds in Howell at I-94 and M-59 (across from the Tanger Outlets) the dog jumped out of the car and ran off.
He is a white Shih-Poo and answers to the name "Teddy."
The family is terribly distraught and wanted to let Patch readers know he's missing, loved and desperately missed.Â
He's wearing a collar with our contact information and a Grosse Pointe Woods, Mi dog license.
