Obituary: Kent Barlow, 48, Hartland

After suffering a heart attack while driving a tow truck in Commerce Township, Kent Barlow, 48, of Hartland died on Jan. 25, according to the Oakland Press.

Barlow, a 16-year employee at Escort Towing, was driving a 2002 International Tow Wrecker on Commerce Road last Friday afternoon when witness told deputies he drifted off the road, striking two small trees, the Oakland Press reported.

Barlow was transported to Huron Valley Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, and WHMI reports that the Oakland County Medical Examiner identified a preliminary cause of death as a heart attack.

A memorial service for Barlow will be held on Thursday at CrossPoint Community Church in Walled Lake starting at 6 p.m, according to Barlow's obituary page on the Phillips Funeral Home website.
