You never know when you may be in a situation where someone will need life-saving care or first aid.

As summer continues to get closer it is a great time to brush up on CPR and first aid skills. During the month of May and June the American Heart Association is offering CPR, first aid and CPR renewal classes in Livingston and Genesee counties. The classes are open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Michigan House GOP website updated

The Michigan House GOP website has recently received an update. The new website has been redesigned to be more interactive and make it easier for residents to keep up with what's going on at the Capitol and interact with their representatives. My new webpage – www.RepDenby.gophouse.org – provides an interactive look at legislative priorities and results.  The page also features a link to bills I have introduced and co-sponsored, as well as regularly updated news, plus free publications and useful links for state government. I encourage you all to check out the new website.

"Veteran" designation on driver's licenses

Legislation that will create a special "veteran" designation on driver's licenses of honorably discharged veterans has been passed through the House and Senate and now waits for the governor's final approval. This legislation will give Michigan veterans easy-to-carry, clear-cut documentation of their service.

The designation will also be used on state issued personal identification cards. This will allow veterans in our state easier access to benefits that they have earned through their service to our country.

I am so pleased to see this legislation moving forward and I applaud Secretary of State Johnson for being a champion for veterans' rights.
