Founder of Hartland's Teen Center Recognized
Hartland teacher and founder of Next Door Teen Center, Kay Fountain, was recognized for her efforts in establishing the local teen center.
Kay Fountain, Hartland Consolidated Schools teacher and founder of the Next Door Teen Center, received special recognition from the Hartland Optimist Club for her work in establishing the after school center for middle school and high school students.
During the presentation, First National Bank Manager Steve Jacob also presented the Next Door Teen Center with a $256 check that was a result of an April employee and customer donation drive matched by First National Bank.
“This recognition really belongs to many people,” said Fountain as she received her award. “Without the partnership between community groups, including the schools and Hartland Township, the dream to have a supervised, fun place for our teens to go after school would never have been realized.”
