  1. Earlier this week, an armored truck crashed going eastbound on I-96 near Lansing and spilled a good amount of money. The driver of a Loomis armored truck did not brake in time for traffic and clipped an SUV before skidding and turning over in a ditch. The driver of the SUV did not report any injuries while the truck driver did sustain minor injuries. It was reported a significant amount of money did spill into the ditch. The right lane of I-96 was closed for hours for cleanup and traffic was backed up for miles. (WJRT)
  2. If you are looking for a taste of Peruvian cuisine in Michigan, look no further than Tantay located in Lansing in the Rathbun Accelerator Kitchen. This is the only Peruvian restaurant in mid-Michigan and the second one in the entire state. Owner and Founder Jose Aste was proud to bring this food to the community for the past three years and really build on the diversity in food in the neighborhood.   3. Former Michigan State basketball player Aaron Henry will be playing his second season overseas after his agency revealed that he has signed on to play for the Toyotsu Fighting Eagles Nagoya in Japan's highest basketball league. This is coming just a season after playing in France with the most recent number-one overall pick in the NBA Draft, Victor Wembanyama. Henry only played in 12 games all season due to battling injuries. (MLive.com)

  • The Lansing Public Service Department wants to provide a traffic update: Starting around 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jul. 8, Genesee Street and Seymour Avenue traffic is expected to be affected due to the Fourth Annual Community Fellowship Event.   • Come join the Lansing Housing Commission next Friday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. for another edition of the Safe Sleep Program.
