Here are the top three stories in Lansing-East Lansing today:

  1. This past Friday Capital Area Michigan Works hosted a career fair focusing on teaching kids about careers and helping them begin a path for their futures. MiCareerQuest hosted several different business fields from health care, education, broadcasting, and much more in the local area to provide different options for attendees to learn about. The goal of this event was to inspire students and begin to get them thinking about what direction they want to go in their futures. (WILX)
  2. This weekend East Lansing is expecting to be packed with nearly 50,000 people as all weekend the MSU Arts and Crafts Show will be making memories for all involved. About 200 vendors from throughout the country will be at the show providing art for the community as well as small businesses in the local area looking to gain a larger audience. Moments like this last a lifetime as some visitors of the festival remember their first time coming as a child and they revisit with their own children, this event is completely free and for all ages to enjoy. Whether you are looking for furniture, jewelry, clothes, or just a weekend to enjoy family time the festival is on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (WLNS)
  3. This past Thursday the annual Safety Patrol Picnic returned to Lansing after going on a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. Hundreds of students made their way to Hawk Island with local first responders and were able to see up close what first responders do and the equipment they work with on a daily business. All the kids who were in attendance at the picnic are part of their school's safety patrols and demonstrated hard work and dedication at school, this was their reward for serving their school. The students enjoy talking to the first responders and riding in the vehicles as much as the first responders love being a positive role model for the youth, the hopes are that this picnic remains for years to come.
