Bills signed to lower costs for Michigan Guard members (dailypress.net) — From Lansing, state leaders just approved new laws cutting health and child care costs for Michigan National Guard members and their families, including those in the Lansing area. The bills create a Tricare premium reimbursement program, add child care assistance during drills and training, and shift unused tuition funds into a broader Guard benefits fund.

3. East Lansing police investigate overnight homicide at Arbor Glen Apartments (wilx.com) — Police are investigating a deadly overnight shooting at Arbor Glen Apartments in East Lansing, near the W. Lake Lansing and Abbot intersection by Michigan State University. A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators say the attack was not random. A person of interest is being interviewed, with state police crime scene experts from Lansing assisting.

Michigan adds 9,000+ COVID-19 cases over the weekend (wlns.com) — Michigan, reported from Lansing, has added more than 9,000 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend as a second wave drives record daily counts.
