Here are the top three stories today in Lansing-East Lansing:

  1. James Harden, Philadelphia 76ers' star, kept his promise to a Michigan State University (MSU) student in attendance at the Game 4 playoff win over the Boston Celtics. Twenty-year-old John Hao is an MSU student who was paralyzed in the campus shooting that occurred in February. He has been in a Chicago rehabilitation center since the incident and had recently returned home. Harden and Hao built a relationship after Harden learned Hao was a fan and gifted him sneakers, money, as well as club box seats to the game over the weekend. The moment came together perfectly as Harden hit the game-winning shot and waved directly to Hao; Harden is encouraging him to stay strong on his path to recovery. (WKAR)
  2. Don't forget, Mother's Day is coming up on May 14, so make plans to celebrate and treat your mom. GasBuddy did a survey of 177 stations in Lansing and discovered that prices were 31.2 cents lower than last month and 101.1 cents lower per gallon than last year. In the City of Lansing, you can find the cheapest gas at $3.09 and the most expensive at $3.69.
