Here are the top three stories in Lansing-East Lansing today:

  1. The State of Michigan will be hosting an in-person and online trades and career fair on Friday, May 12 from 3:30 - 7:30 p.m., the in-person fair will be at the Capitol Commons Center. Gov. Whitmer is hoping that this event will help qualified residents connect with employers and explore the opportunities of their futures. At the fair, the Department of Military and Veteran Affairs will also be assisting veterans with the application process for veterans' affairs. This event brings a bunch of opportunities to learn about different careers and apply for great positions, you can register for either job fair with the link at the bottom of the article. (WILX)
  2. Wharton Center is getting a return of the most popular musical in East Lansing this Wednesday as "Wicked" returns for another musical run. The musical takes the story we know in the Land of Oz and looks at it from a different angle when a rivalry turns into a battle between the good witch and the bad witch. Wicked will be playing from May 10-28 at the Wharton Center. Tickers can be purchased online here. (WKZO)
  3. Michigan State will be honoring the three students who lost their lives in the tragic shooting on Feb. 13 with posthumous degrees over the weekend. More than 9,500 students are set to graduate over the course of the weekend and although Arielle Anderson, Brian Fraser, and Alexandria Verner will not be walking across the stage, their spirits will be with their peers throughout the entire process. Board Chair Dr. Rema Vassar believes these honorary degrees are the least the school can do for the families for the contribution they gave to the Spartan community. (WZZM13.com)
