Anchor Bay Girls Bowling Team Picks Up Wins

Tars defeat Sterling Heights and prevail at Romeo tournament during victorious weekend.

On Friday, the Tars remained undefeated with a 28-2 victory over Sterling Heights at Sterling Lanes. On Saturday, Anchor Bay won the Romeo Team Invitational Tournament.

Against Sterling Heights, Kelsey Fader led Anchor Bay with a high game of 186. Mariah Fasczcewski and Mikalee Bogue each bowled games of 182 for the Tars. .

At Romeo, Anchor Bay qualified finished seventh out of 17 teams for the single-elimination tournament.

The Tars then swept through the playoffs, defeating Romeo 300-274; Clarkston 324-300; Utica 330-320; and Stevenson 366-348 in the finals.

Meanwhile, the Anchor Bay boys bowling team defeated Sterling Heights on Friday 17-13.

Shane Barthlow paced the Tars with a high game of 230. Sean Mariotti rolled a pair of 211 games, and Shawn Bibee had a game of 210. The Tars are 2-1 overall.

The Anchor Bay boys team finished 15th at the Romeo Team Invitational Tournament after losing to Clarkston 362-331 in the first-round of the playoffs.
