Detroit Man Drowns In Lake St. Clair: Police

Investigators do not suspect foul play, but do believe alcohol was a contributing factor.

NEW BALTIMORE, MI — A 27-year-old Detroit man died after drowning in Lake St. Clair over the weekend, according to police.

Dive teams found the body of Demari Dior Morgan on the bottom of the lake under a dock at 2:48 a.m. Sunday in the New Baltimore area, according to police.

Police said Morgan was visiting friends and family who had rented an AirBnb property for the weekend on Lake St. Clair.

Investigators believe Morgan was standing on the dock before falling into the lake and going underwater. They do not believe foul play played a role in the drowning, but do suspect alcohol was a contributing factor. Official autopsy reports were still pending.
