Historic Downtown New Baltimore Now Boasts Outdoor Dining

Little Camille's By the Bay added a patio this month, bringing outdoor dining to downtown New Baltimore.

Dining al fresco with the breeze sweeping in from nearby Anchor Bay has become an option this summer in downtown New Baltimore.

, which officially opened April 1 on Washington Street, set up an outdoor patio in recent days and is working on obtaining permission from the state to serve alcohol on the patio as well, owner and chef Mark Miller said Friday.

Since the patio is in the historic district, it required approval from the city's Historic Commission, Planning Commission and City Council. The total process took about two months, but city officials ensured the request was handled as quickly as possible, Miller said.

"I was the first," Miller said of offering outdoor dining service in the district. "No one really tried to do that."

Nearby has tables and chairs for customers to enjoy their food and treats they purchase inside the business.

Little Camille's, named after Miller's wife, is also partnering with the popular in Chesterfield Township this summer. The restaurant, which offers a wide array of menu options, will serve the custard stand's ice cream sandwiches alone and chopped up with Sanders fudge.

The dessert partnership follows Little Camille's theme of using local businesses, produce and meat for freshly made meals.

in the former Slippery Rock space, Miller says the restaurant has been embraced by locals.

"The community's been fantastic. It's like New Baltimore and the local areas have opened up their arms," he said.
