Hotel Slated for Chesterfield Township Land Along I-94
Plans are underway for the vacant parcel between Hall Road and 21 Mile.

A new hotel is expected this year along an expansive stretch of Interstate 94 in Chesterfield Township, according to the land owner.
The Marriott hotel chain signed a contract to build on the vacant parcel between 21 Mile and Hall Road, said Thomas Guastello, President of Center Management in Birmingham.
"They're debating on exactly what Marriott brand to do. It could be a Courtyard," Guastello said Wednesday of the preliminary plans.

A ground-breaking is anticipated in spring for the hotel with approximately 100 rooms. Company representatives are in talks with the community but no official site plans have been submitted to the township yet, he said.
The hotel would be the first business on the 178-acre, mixed use parcel dubbed the Chesterfield Towne Centre that was designated by previous developers as the future site of Macomb County's first convention center. Plans for a convention center never came to fruition, but the infrastructure was laid to support that and other development. Center Management says there's various opportunities for the property along the highly traveled freeway.
