What inspired you to get into the ministry? The gospel. The idea that God would become a man in order to identify, atone, and ultimately die for my sin so that he could both be just and loving at the same time. It's an amazing story and the fact that the resurrection affirms its validity inspires me to tell others about the great love of God and his amazing plan of salvation. Jesus is not just a historical figure; he is the one and only God in the flesh who has come to reveal who God is and his passion for his people to know and be loved by him.

What do you hope to achieve in your position? I hope to hear the approval of God before the praise of man. I hope that I can stand before God and he can say, "Job well done, good and faithful servant." I want VOX Church to be a place where people can come and experience a worship service where they get a clear picture of who God is, a community where they can be fully known and yet fully loved, and a launching ground for new initiatives that bring about true life change in our community. This excites me and this compels me to give all I have to VOX and the people that I get to serve alongside.

How would you explain your leadership style to someone who’s never been to the church?  My preaching style is pretty confrontational. I feel like every time we open up the Bible it confronts us with something that is broken in our lives. I want every time I preach to represent the text and its passion for us to be transformed. I want every sermon to be preached like its my last. I want the weight of Scripture to be felt. I want the whole worship service to be single-focused and done with excellence so everyone can walk away and felt like they knew exactly what the text of Scripture we discussed was all about.

What is your favorite part of the week and why? My favorite part of the week happens when I lead one of our many small groups on Wednesday night. About 20 of us gather just to break open a book of the Bible and dig deep and look for practical ways we can apply its truth to our lives. There are some amazing people at VOX that I get to call friends.

What are your hobbies? I love Mustangs, motorcycles and anything with a fast engine in it.

Additional information:  I love writing music for the church. I have an album on iTunes entitled "Love Has a Name." These are all original songs that I have written.

Favorite band or singer: Chris Tomlin

Favorite restaurant: TGIF's

Besides your church, what is your favorite hang out in the community: The Mall at Partridge Creek

A little-known fact about you: I don't drink coffee.
