Visions for Vacancies: What Do You Want to Replace Former Police Station?

Patch asks readers to share their hopes for vacancies in Chesterfield and New Baltimore.

In our weekly Visions for Vacancies feature, readers become pseudo city planners by offering an opportunity to share dreams for empty storefronts or buildings.

We first asked readers what they envisioned for the former Farmer Jack on 23 Mile and Gratiot in Chesterfield Township. they would like to see a fruit market like Trader Joe's, Randazzo's Fresh Market, Whole Foods or Nino Salvaggio while some thought Costco, Barnes and Noble or even a super-sized store would be good choices. 

The second subject in this series is the , formerly a  VG's Grocery store, in the plaza on 23 Mile in New Baltimore. they envisioned Aldi, Dave & Buster's, other grocers and, once again Cosco.

Next up: The old New Baltimore police station on Front Street overlooking Anchor Bay. because the long-ago dental office was too cramped and outdated. But, it's prime waterfront location has stirred up the imagination of city officials. Mayor Larry Smith once said he would like to see the with a stellar view.
