Yoga Studio Stretches into Bigger Space
Santosha Yoga on Gratiot south of 22 Mile in Chesterfield Township expanded space and services.
A Chesterfield Township yoga studio is stretching into larger space.
Santosha Yoga on Gratiot south of 22 Mile moved late February to the former Platinum Skincare business within the same plaza. That takes the studio, which opened in October 2009, from 1,300 square feet to 2,600 square feet, owner Theresa May said Monday.
"We've been blessed," May said. "The community has embraced us."

The expansion allows the studio to offer larger workshops and massage, ranging from a half-hour massage for $35, one-hour massage for $55 and 90-minute massage for $75.

Class offerings vary to accommodate students in different levels. One popular choice is so-called hot yoga in which the room temp is cranked to 95 degrees.
"One way to detoxify is to perspire," May said, noting that anyone with health concerns should consult their doctor before any yoga class.
The studio is scheduled to have a re-grand opening celebration throughout the day, beginning at 7:30 a.m. March 31. There will be several services offered for free, including yoga classes, chair massages and henna tattoos as well as complimentary snacks and beverages.
Donations and raffle proceeds are to benefit the Pink Fund to provide financial assistance for people with breast cancer.
