Crime Report: Accused Northville Meijer Shoplifters Arrested

The following information was supplied by the City of Northville Police Department and Northville Township's Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

3 arrested on suspicion of stealing from Meijer

  • On July 5, a 21-year-old Novi woman was arrested after police say she stole more than $150 in merchandise from . The woman was seen by Meijer security wheeling dresses, clothes, beer, aquarium supplies and other items out of the store, according to Northville Township police. She was arrested and released on a $300 bond. She is due to appear in the 35th District Court later this month.
  • A 58-year-old Livonia man stole from Meijer on July 7, according to township police reports. The man was seen by store security switching tags from a $.79 candy bar and a $499 vaccuum cleaner. He paid $.79 for the latter and left the store. He was arrested and paid a $300 bond.
  • A 26-year-old Ypsilanti woman was arrested on July 7 after store security said she stole $545 in merchandise from Meijer. According to township police reports, she was arrested and posted a $150 bond. She is due to appear in the 35th District Court in late July.

Attempted car theft reported

A Plymouth man reported that someone attempted to steal his car on July 4 while it was parked on the 42000 block of Swan Lake Drive, according to township police reports.

The man told police he was awakened by his car alarm and went to check it out. When he got to the car, the lock was damaged from tampering, according to the police report.

Catalytic converter reported stolen

The catalytic converter on a car parked outside of the Park Place of Northville apartments was reported stolen sometime between July 2-5, according to township police reports.

Flower pots reported stolen

A resident of High Street reported to city police that while on vacation, his home's flower pots were stolen, according to police reports. The cement planters weighed about 45 pounds each and were discovered missing on July 8.

iPhone reported stolen and returned

A Northville man reported to police that his iPhone was stolen from a bag he left at a bench outside of CVS in downtown Northville on July 6, according to city police reports. He called the number and reached a man who said he would return it to him. The man told police he did not know the phone was stolen and bought it from someone in downtown Northville on the same day it was stolen.
