Man Arrested on Charges of Stealing from Meijer
The following arrest information was supplied by the Northville Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Northville Township police arrested a man at 5:44 p.m. on April 19 at Meijer, 20401 Haggerty Road, on charges of retail fraud, according to a police report.
A Meijer loss prevention detective observed a man select a cart full of groceries and proceed through the checkouts near the south doors past all points of purchase and exit, the report said. Loss prevention officer then took him into custody, according to the report.
The man told the loss prevention officer that he understood what he did was wrong and a crime but he wasn’t thinking about it when he left the store, the report said. Meijer loss prevention officers gave the man a $200 civil demand, according to the report.

Northville Township police arrested the man for retail fraud as a misdemeanor, the report said. He was taken to the Northville Township Police Department, where he posted a $300 bond and was released, according to the report. He has an 8:30 a.m. hearing May 8 at 35th District Court.
