Knife-Wielding Man Arrested on Drug Charge in Northville

The following information was provided by the Northville Township Department of Public Safety.

A person called the Northville Township Department of Public Safety at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 to report that a man had brandished a knife in the area of Eight Mile Road and Griswold, according to a police report.

The person who made the report then began following the car, and police pulled the driver over on Six Mile Road just east of Brander, the report said.

According to the police report, felony traffic stop procedures were performed and the driver was taken into custody without incident, the report said. The driver was an 18-year-old male from Northville.

An officer later searched the car and found a baggie of marijuana, a marijuana grinder, a pipe and brass kunckles, the report said.

The officers then determined that the initial incident with the knife had occurred in Novi, and the person who made the call said they did not wish to prosecute, the report said.

The driver of the car was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a dangerous weapon, the report said.
